**PBXIP1 (Pre-B-Cell Leukemia Homeobox Interacting Protein 1)**, also known as HPIP, is a multifunctional protein involved in transcriptional regulation, signal transduction, and cellular processes such as proliferation, differentiation, and migration. It was initially identified as an interaction partner of PBX1. a homeodomain transcription factor critical for embryonic development and organogenesis. PBXIP1 lacks DNA-binding domains but acts as a co-regulator by modulating the activity of transcription factors like PBX1. estrogen receptors, and NF-κB, influencing gene expression programs in development and disease.

Structurally, PBXIP1 contains nuclear localization signals and interaction motifs that facilitate its shuttling between the nucleus and cytoplasm.
