背景信息

The TES (N-term) antibody is specifically designed to target the N-terminal region of the TES (Testis-derived transcript protein), a cytoskeletal-associated protein implicated in cell adhesion, motility, and tumor suppression. First identified in 2001. TES is encoded by the TES gene located on human chromosome 7q31.1. a region frequently associated with genomic instability in cancers. TES interacts with multiple proteins, including zyxin, mena, and actin, through its LIM domains, playing a role in cytoskeletal organization and focal adhesion dynamics.

In normal tissues, TES is broadly expressed, particularly in testis, ovary, and prostate. Its downregulation or loss is observed in various cancers (e.g., breast, lung, and colorectal), correlating with tumor progression, metastasis, and poor prognosis. The TES (N-term) antibody is widely used in research to study TES expression patterns, subcellular localization, and functional mechanisms via techniques like Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence. Its specificity for the N-terminal region ensures recognition of full-length TES, avoiding cross-reactivity with truncated isoforms. Studies using this antibody have helped elucidate TES's tumor-suppressive roles, including inhibiting cell proliferation, migration, and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT), making it a biomarker candidate and potential therapeutic target in oncology.
