Recombinant human IQGAP3 protein is a engineered form of the naturally occurring IQ motif-containing GTPase-activating protein 3. which belongs to the IQGAP family of scaffolding proteins. Structurally, IQGAP3 contains conserved domains including an actin-binding calponin homology domain, a GTPase-activating protein (GAP)-related domain, and multiple IQ motifs that interact with calmodulin and other calcium-binding proteins. It functions as a molecular hub coordinating cytoskeletal dynamics, cell-cell adhesion, and mitotic processes by interacting with partners such as Rac1. Cdc42. actin filaments, and components of the cell division machinery.

Studies suggest IQGAP3 is highly expressed in proliferating tissues and cancer cells, where it promotes cell cycle progression, cytokinesis, and epithelial-mesenchymal transition. Its overexpression correlates with poor prognosis in multiple cancers, implicating it in tumorigenesis and metastasis.
