The IZUMO2 antibody is a research tool developed to study the IZUMO2 protein, a key player in mammalian fertilization. Discovered as part of the IZUMO family (IZUMO1-4), these proteins are critical for sperm-egg membrane fusion. While IZUMO1. identified in 2005. is the most characterized and essential for fertilization, IZUMO2 was later found to play a supportive role.
