背景信息

Matrix Metalloproteinase 13 (MMP13), also known as collagenase-3. is a zinc-dependent endopeptidase belonging to the MMP family. It primarily degrades extracellular matrix (ECM) components, particularly type II collagen, and plays critical roles in tissue remodeling, wound healing, and pathological processes such as osteoarthritis, cancer metastasis, and chronic inflammation. MMP13 is upregulated in response to inflammatory cytokines (e.g., IL-1β, TNF-α) and mechanical stress, making it a key mediator in connective tissue destruction and repair.

MMP13 antibodies are immunological tools designed to detect, quantify, or inhibit MMP13 activity in research and diagnostics. These antibodies are widely used in techniques like Western blotting, immunohistochemistry (IHC), and ELISA to study MMP13 expression patterns in diseases, assess its role in ECM turnover, or evaluate therapeutic interventions.
