Caudal-type homeobox protein 4 (CDX-4) is a transcription factor belonging to the caudal-related homeobox (CDX) gene family, which plays crucial roles in embryonic development, cell differentiation, and tissue patterning. CDX proteins are characterized by a conserved DNA-binding homeodomain that enables sequence-specific gene regulation.
