背景信息

The Mouse Sox2 (N-term) antibody is a monoclonal or polyclonal antibody specifically designed to detect the N-terminal region of the transcription factor Sox2 (SRY-box transcription factor 2). Sox2 is a key regulator of embryonic development and cellular pluripotency, playing a critical role in maintaining the self-renewal capacity of embryonic stem cells (ESCs) and neural progenitor cells. It belongs to the Sox protein family, characterized by a conserved high-mobility group (HMG) DNA-binding domain. Dysregulation of Sox2 is associated with developmental disorders and cancers, particularly in maintaining cancer stem cell populations.

This antibody is raised in mice against a recombinant protein or peptide corresponding to the N-terminal region of Sox2. which helps ensure specificity by minimizing cross-reactivity with other Sox family members (e.g., Sox1. Sox3). It is widely used in applications such as Western blotting (WB), immunohistochemistry (IHC), immunofluorescence (IF), and flow cytometry to study Sox2 expression in mouse, human, or rat tissues and cell lines. Its validation often includes knockout/knockdown controls to confirm target specificity.

Researchers employ this antibody in stem cell biology, neurodevelopmental studies, and cancer research to explore Sox2's role in cell fate determination, reprogramming, and tumorigenesis. Proper experimental optimization (e.g., dilution ratios, blocking conditions) is recommended to minimize background noise, given Sox2's variable expression levels across cell types.
