背景信息

The Trim24 antibody is designed to detect Trim24 (Tripartite Motif-Containing 24), a protein encoded by the TRIM24 gene in mice. Trim24 belongs to the TRIM family of proteins, which are characterized by a conserved N-terminal tripartite motif (RING, B-box, and coiled-coil domains) involved in protein-protein interactions, ubiquitination, and transcriptional regulation. Trim24. also known as TIF1α (Transcriptional Intermediary Factor 1 alpha), functions as an E3 ubiquitin ligase and a chromatin-binding protein, playing roles in epigenetic regulation, nuclear receptor signaling, and chromatin remodeling. It interacts with nuclear receptors such as estrogen receptor alpha (ERα) and retinoic acid receptors (RARs), modulating their transcriptional activity. Trim24 is implicated in diverse cellular processes, including cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis. Studies in mice highlight its involvement in embryonic development, metabolic regulation, and stem cell pluripotency. Dysregulation of Trim24 has been linked to cancers, including hepatocellular carcinoma and breast cancer, where it may act as an oncogene by stabilizing oncoproteins like c-Myc. The Trim24 antibody is widely used in research to investigate its expression, localization, and molecular interactions via techniques such as Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and immunoprecipitation. Understanding Trim24's role in disease pathways and normal physiology remains a key focus, with potential implications for targeted therapies.
