背景信息

The Mouse Ring1 antibody is a crucial tool for studying the Polycomb Repressive Complex 1 (PRC1), which plays a central role in epigenetic gene regulation. Ring1 (RING1A/RING1B) is a core component of PRC1. functioning as an E3 ubiquitin ligase that catalyzes monoubiquitination of histone H2A at lysine 119 (H2AK119ub1). This modification facilitates chromatin compaction and transcriptional repression, critical for maintaining cellular identity, stem cell pluripotency, and developmental processes. Ring1 proteins interact with other PRC1 subunits, such as BMI1 or PCGF, to stabilize the complex and mediate its chromatin-targeting activity. Dysregulation of Ring1/PRC1 is implicated in cancers, developmental disorders, and metabolic diseases. The Mouse Ring1 antibody, often developed by immunizing mice with recombinant Ring1 protein or specific epitopes, enables detection and functional analysis of endogenous Ring1 in techniques like Western blotting, immunofluorescence, and chromatin immunoprecipitation. Its specificity varies depending on the immunogen design; some antibodies distinguish between Ring1A and Ring1B isoforms, while others cross-react due to their high sequence homology. This antibody has been instrumental in elucidating PRC1's role in X-chromosome inactivation, genomic imprinting, and tumorigenesis, providing insights into epigenetic mechanisms underlying disease and development.
