背景信息

**Background of ADM2 Recombinant Protein**

ADM2 (Adrenomedullin 2), also known as intermedin (IMD), is a peptide hormone belonging to the calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) family. It was first identified in 2004 through genomic analyses, sharing structural homology with adrenomedullin (ADM) and CGRP. ADM2 is encoded by the *ADM2* gene and is widely expressed in various tissues, including the brain, cardiovascular system, kidneys, and gastrointestinal tract.

Functionally, ADM2 interacts with receptor complexes composed of calcitonin receptor-like receptor (CLR) and receptor activity-modifying proteins (RAMPs), primarily RAMP1 and RAMP3. This interaction activates downstream signaling pathways, such as cAMP/PKA and MAPK, regulating vasodilation, anti-inflammatory responses, and cellular proliferation. ADM2 plays critical roles in maintaining cardiovascular homeostasis, fluid balance, and metabolic regulation. It exhibits protective effects in conditions like hypertension, heart failure, and ischemia-reperfusion injury by improving blood flow and reducing oxidative stress.

The recombinant ADM2 protein is produced using biotechnological platforms (e.g., *E. coli* or mammalian cell systems) to ensure high purity and bioactivity. Its therapeutic potential is being explored in preclinical studies for treating cardiovascular diseases, metabolic disorders, and inflammatory conditions. However, challenges such as peptide stability, delivery efficiency, and receptor specificity require further optimization. Research on ADM2 continues to unravel its multifaceted roles in physiology and pathology, highlighting its promise as a diagnostic marker or therapeutic target.
