WDR63 is a member of the WD40 repeat-containing protein family, characterized by conserved repeats of ~40 amino acids that form β-propeller structures to mediate protein-protein interactions. It is broadly expressed in tissues, particularly enriched in the brain, testis, and ciliated cells.

Studies link WDR63 to primary ciliary dyskinesia (PCD), a genetic disorder affecting motile cilia, leading to respiratory defects, infertility, and laterality defects.
