Recombinant human PCTK2 (PCTAIRE kinase 2) protein is a cell cycle-regulated serine/threonine kinase belonging to the CDK (cyclin-dependent kinase) superfamily. Structurally, it contains a conserved N-terminal PCTAIRE motif and a C-terminal catalytic kinase domain, distinguishing it from classical CDKs. Unlike typical CDKs, PCTK2 activity is independent of cyclin binding but may interact with Cyclin Y or other regulatory proteins.
