The MARCHF5 antibody is a research tool targeting MARCHF5 (Membrane-associated RING-CH-type finger 5), an E3 ubiquitin ligase belonging to the MARCH family. MARCHF5. also known as MITOL, is primarily localized to the mitochondrial outer membrane and plays a critical role in mitochondrial quality control. It mediates the ubiquitination of misfolded or damaged mitochondrial proteins, marking them for degradation via the proteasome or autophagy-lysosome pathways. This process is essential for maintaining mitochondrial dynamics, including fission, fusion, and mitophagy, as well as regulating apoptosis and cellular stress responses.
