DAZAP1 (DAZ-associated protein 1) is an RNA-binding protein encoded by the DAZAP1 gene, located on human chromosome 19p13.3. Initially identified through its interaction with the DAZ (Deleted in Azoospermia) family of proteins, DAZAP1 is ubiquitously expressed and plays roles in RNA metabolism, including mRNA splicing, transport, stability, and translation. It contains two RNA recognition motifs (RRMs) and participates in diverse cellular processes such as cell cycle regulation, apoptosis, and embryonic development.
