背景信息

The COPS8 antibody targets the COP9 signalosome subunit 8 (COPS8), a key component of the COP9 signalosome (CSN) complex. The CSN is a conserved eukaryotic protein complex involved in regulating ubiquitin-proteasome-mediated protein degradation, primarily by modulating the activity of cullin-RING ubiquitin ligases (CRLs). COPS8. also known as CSN8. plays a structural and functional role in maintaining CSN integrity and its deneddylation activity, which removes NEDD8 modifications from cullins to regulate CRL activity. Dysregulation of COPS8 has been linked to cellular processes such as cell cycle progression, DNA damage response, and signal transduction, with implications in cancer, neurodegenerative disorders, and immune diseases. Antibodies against COPS8 are widely used in research to study its expression, localization, and interaction partners via techniques like Western blotting, immunoprecipitation, and immunofluorescence. They also aid in exploring COPS8's role in pathological contexts, such as tumor progression or therapeutic resistance, where altered CSN function may drive disease mechanisms. Commercial COPS8 antibodies are typically validated for specificity across human, mouse, and rat models, supporting both basic and translational studies.
