The MAGE-3 antibody targets the MAGE-A3 protein, a member of the melanoma-associated antigen (MAGE) family. MAGE genes, first identified in melanoma, encode cancer-testis antigens (CTAs) typically expressed in germline cells but silenced in most healthy somatic tissues.
