背景信息

SDHB (succinate dehydrogenase complex iron sulfur subunit B) is a key component of mitochondrial complex II, which plays a dual role in the tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle and electron transport chain. As a tumor suppressor, SDHB is encoded by the SDHB gene located on chromosome 1p36. Mutations in this gene are linked to hereditary paraganglioma-pheochromocytoma syndrome (HPPS) and other cancers, including renal cell carcinoma and gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs). SDHB deficiency disrupts cellular metabolism, leading to pseudohypoxic drive and tumorigenesis.
