Zinc finger CCHC-type containing 8 (ZCCHC8) is a vertebrate-conserved nuclear protein involved in RNA metabolism and quality control. Structurally, it contains a C-terminal CCHC-type zinc finger motif and an N-terminal coiled-coil domain, which mediate protein-protein interactions and complex assembly. ZCCHC8 forms a core component of the nuclear exosome-targeting (NEXT) complex alongside the RNA helicase MKRN1 and the RNA-binding protein RBM7.
