Recombinant human matrix metalloproteinase-27 (MMP-27), also known as MMP-22. is a member of the matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) family, a group of zinc-dependent endopeptidases involved in extracellular matrix (ECM) remodeling and tissue homeostasis. MMP-27 is encoded by the *MMP27* gene located on chromosome 11q24.
