The DNA nucleotidylexotransferase (DNTT), also known as terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase (TdT), is a specialized DNA polymerase that catalyzes the template-independent addition of nucleotides during V(D)J recombination, a critical process for generating diverse antigen receptors in developing B and T lymphocytes.
