背景信息

Ccl7 (C-C motif chemokine ligand 7), also known as monocyte chemoattractant protein-3 (MCP-3), is a small secreted protein belonging to the CC chemokine family. It plays a critical role in immune regulation by recruiting leukocytes, including monocytes, dendritic cells, and T lymphocytes, to sites of inflammation or injury. Ccl7 binds to multiple G protein-coupled receptors, primarily CCR1. CCR2. and CCR3. initiating signaling cascades that mediate cell migration and activation. Its expression is induced in various cell types, such as fibroblasts, endothelial cells, and macrophages, in response to pro-inflammatory cytokines (e.g., TNF-α, IL-1β) or pathogenic stimuli.

Recombinant Ccl7 protein is produced using engineered expression systems (e.g., E. coli, mammalian cells) to ensure high purity and bioactivity while eliminating animal-derived contaminants. This allows precise control over protein concentration and functionality for experimental or therapeutic applications. Researchers utilize recombinant Ccl7 to study its involvement in inflammatory diseases (e.g., arthritis, atherosclerosis), cancer progression (modulating tumor microenvironment), and infectious responses. In vitro, it is applied in chemotaxis assays, immune cell differentiation studies, and receptor interaction analyses. In vivo, it helps model diseases driven by leukocyte infiltration. Notably, Ccl7’s dual role in promoting inflammation and tissue repair highlights its therapeutic potential as a target or tool in immunomodulation. However, its pleiotropic effects necessitate careful evaluation in context-specific studies.
