背景信息

Recombinant human MCRS1 (Microspherule Protein 1) is a multifunctional protein encoded by the MCRS1 gene. Structurally, it contains coiled-coil domains facilitating interactions with diverse partners. MCRS1 plays critical roles in cellular processes including transcription regulation, chromatin remodeling, mitotic spindle assembly, and cell cycle control. It is a core subunit of the INO80 chromatin remodeling complex, impacting gene expression, DNA repair, and replication. Additionally, MCRS1 interacts with the NuRD complex to modulate histone deacetylase activity and participates in telomerase assembly via its association with dyskerin.

Aberrant MCRS1 expression is linked to diseases. Overexpression is observed in various cancers, correlating with genomic instability and tumorigenesis. Studies suggest MCRS1 promotes cancer cell proliferation by regulating p53 and Rb pathways. It also influences stem cell self-renewal and senescence through telomerase-related mechanisms.
