Recombinant human GJA4 protein, also known as Connexin 37 (Cx37), is a synthetically produced variant of the gap junction protein encoded by the *GJA4* gene. Gap junction proteins form intercellular channels (connexons) that facilitate direct communication between adjacent cells by allowing the transfer of ions, metabolites, and signaling molecules. GJA4 is a transmembrane protein with four transmembrane domains, cytoplasmic N- and C-termini, and extracellular loops critical for channel docking. It is expressed in vascular endothelial cells, smooth muscle cells, and platelets, playing roles in vascular homeostasis, angiogenesis, and thromboregulation.
