CREB3 (cAMP-responsive element-binding protein 3) is a member of the CREB/ATF family of transcription factors, primarily involved in regulating cellular responses to endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress. CREB3 is an ER-resident transmembrane protein with a luminal N-terminal domain that senses ER stress and a cytoplasmic C-terminal domain containing a basic leucine zipper (bZIP) motif for DNA binding.
