背景信息

Coiled-coil domain-containing protein 9 (CCDC9) is a conserved eukaryotic protein characterized by its namesake coiled-coil structural motifs, which mediate protein-protein interactions and macromolecular assembly. It belongs to the CCDC family, members of which are broadly implicated in cytoskeletal organization, intracellular trafficking, and signal transduction. CCDC9 is ubiquitously expressed, with higher levels observed in tissues like the brain, kidneys, and lungs. Structurally, it contains multiple α-helical regions that form coiled-coil domains, enabling dimerization or oligomerization with binding partners such as PARD6B, a regulator of cell polarity.

Functionally, CCDC9 participates in microtubule dynamics, ciliogenesis, and cell cycle regulation. Studies link it to autophagy modulation via interactions with the ULK1 complex and Golgi apparatus integrity maintenance.
