C1orf59 (Chromosome 1 Open Reading Frame 59), also known as FAM134C or RANBP1, is a human protein encoded by the C1orf59 gene located on chromosome 1p34.3. Structurally, it contains a conserved FAM134 domain, which is characteristic of the FAM134 protein family involved in membrane dynamics and autophagy. The protein is characterized by coiled-coil regions and potential transmembrane domains, suggesting roles in intracellular trafficking or organelle membrane organization.
