Recombinant human C1orf25 protein, also known as RESP18 (Regulated endocrine-specific protein 18), is encoded by the C1orf25 gene located on chromosome 1 (1p36.11). This evolutionarily conserved secretory protein is predominantly expressed in neuroendocrine tissues, including the pancreas, pituitary gland, and adrenal glands.
