背景信息

GRN antibodies target progranulin (PGRN), a multifunctional glycoprotein encoded by the *GRN* gene. Progranulin is widely expressed in various tissues, including neurons, microglia, and immune cells, and plays critical roles in cell survival, inflammation, wound repair, and lysosomal function. Structurally, it consists of seven tandem granulin domains, which can be cleaved into smaller bioactive peptides (granulins) with distinct functions. Dysregulation of progranulin is strongly linked to neurodegenerative diseases, particularly frontotemporal dementia (FTD).
