背景信息

The Mouse Akt2 (N-term) antibody is designed to specifically detect the N-terminal region of Akt2. a serine/threonine kinase belonging to the Akt/PKB (Protein Kinase B) family. Akt2. encoded by the AKT2 gene, plays a critical role in insulin signaling, glucose metabolism, and cell survival. It is one of three Akt isoforms (Akt1. Akt2. Akt3) with distinct but overlapping functions. Akt2 is particularly vital in insulin-regulated glucose uptake in adipose and muscle tissues, linking it to metabolic disorders like diabetes and obesity. Dysregulation of Akt2 is also implicated in cancer progression due to its anti-apoptotic and pro-proliferative effects.

This antibody targets epitopes near the N-terminus of mouse Akt2. a region that includes the pleckstrin homology (PH) domain responsible for membrane localization and activation via phosphoinositide binding. It is commonly used in applications such as Western blotting, immunoprecipitation, and immunohistochemistry to study Akt2 expression, post-translational modifications (e.g., phosphorylation at Thr309/Ser474), and interactions in cellular signaling pathways.

The Mouse Akt2 (N-term) antibody is validated for specificity to Akt2. with minimal cross-reactivity to Akt1 or Akt3 isoforms. It serves as a key tool in research exploring insulin resistance, tumorigenesis, and PI3K/Akt/mTOR pathway dynamics. Proper controls, including Akt2-knockout samples, are recommended to confirm signal specificity in experimental settings.
