背景信息

Interleukin-17B (IL-17B) is a member of the IL-17 cytokine family, which plays roles in immune regulation, inflammation, and tissue homeostasis. Discovered in 2000. IL-17B shares structural homology with IL-17A but exhibits distinct biological functions. It binds to the IL-17 receptor B (IL-17RB), activating downstream signaling pathways like NF-κB and MAPK, which promote pro-inflammatory responses and cell survival. IL-17B is implicated in autoimmune diseases, chronic inflammation, and cancer progression, particularly in pancreatic, gastric, and breast cancers, where it enhances tumor cell proliferation and resistance to apoptosis.
