ALIX (Apoptosis-linked gene 2-interacting protein X), also known as PDCD6IP, is a multifunctional adaptor protein involved in diverse cellular processes, including endosomal sorting, vesicle trafficking, cytokinesis, apoptosis, and viral budding. It was initially identified through its interaction with ALG-2. a calcium-binding protein implicated in programmed cell death. Structurally, ALIX contains three conserved domains: an N-terminal Bro1 domain, a central V-shaped domain, and a C-terminal proline-rich region (PRR).
