背景信息

High Mobility Group Box 1 (HMGB1) is a highly conserved nuclear protein that regulates DNA structure, transcription, and repair. Beyond its nuclear role, HMGB1 acts as a damage-associated molecular pattern (DAMP) when released into the extracellular space during cell stress, necrosis, or activation.
