**Background of the Ki67 Antibody**

The Ki67 antibody is a widely used tool in biomedical research and clinical pathology to assess cell proliferation. The Ki67 protein, first identified in 1983 by Gerdes et al., is a nuclear non-histone antigen expressed in all active phases of the cell cycle (G1. S, G2. M) but absent in quiescent (G0) cells.
