Ubiquitin B (UBB) is a member of the ubiquitin protein family, which plays a central role in protein degradation through the ubiquitin-proteasome system (UPS). UBB, encoded by the UBB gene in humans (located on chromosome 17p11.2), is notable for containing tandem repeats of ubiquitin-coding sequences. These repeats can lead to the production of polyubiquitin chains under stress conditions, serving as a reservoir of ubiquitin monomers to maintain cellular homeostasis.

UBB antibodies are essential tools for studying ubiquitination dynamics, protein turnover, and UPS-related pathologies.
