背景信息

The myotubularin-related protein 7 (MTMR7) antibody is a research tool designed to detect MTMR7. a member of the myotubularin phosphatase family involved in regulating phosphoinositide metabolism. MTMR7 functions as a lipid phosphatase that dephosphorylates phosphatidylinositol 3-phosphate (PI3P) and phosphatidylinositol 3.5-bisphosphate [PI(3.5)P2], critical signaling molecules governing membrane trafficking, autophagy, and cell survival. Unlike catalytically active myotubularins, MTMR7 lacks intrinsic phosphatase activity but forms heterodimers with active family members (e.g., MTMR2/3) to modulate their substrate specificity and cellular localization. It plays roles in neuronal development, endosomal sorting, and mTOR signaling. MTMR7 antibodies are widely used in Western blotting, immunofluorescence, and immunohistochemistry to study its expression, subcellular distribution, and interactions in physiological and pathological contexts, including cancer and neurodevelopmental disorders. Dysregulation of MTMR7 has been linked to tumor progression and chemotherapy resistance, highlighting its potential as a therapeutic target. Validated antibodies enable exploration of MTMR7's regulatory mechanisms in phosphoinositide homeostasis and disease pathways.
