**Background of P4HB Antibody**

The P4HB (Prolyl 4-hydroxylase subunit beta) protein, also known as Protein Disulfide Isomerase (PDI), is a multifunctional enzyme encoded by the *P4HB* gene. It resides primarily in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) and plays a critical role in post-translational protein modification. P4HB is a member of the thioredoxin superfamily and functions as both a subunit of the prolyl 4-hydroxylase complex—essential for collagen biosynthesis by catalyzing proline hydroxylation—and as a disulfide isomerase, facilitating the proper folding of nascent polypeptides through oxidation, reduction, and rearrangement of disulfide bonds.
